World of Discovery: City of Tomorrow

This area is a tribute to a bright and hopeful future. Here, guests will look to the horizons and see how humanity might progress, and in turn, they will be inspired to create that future.

Before going near any Pavilions, guests go through an area known as "the tail." This is where they can find help and services at Discovery Central and shop at the Discovery Store, the biggest store in the park. There is also a statue of Walt Disney standing in front of a model of Progress City, his first draft of his proposed "Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow."

CENTURY PAVILION
The park's Icon is a giant, metal pyramid pointing to the sky. This pyramid houses an attraction: Century, a ride where guests can choose their own future from the present, similar to the former Horizons attraction. It exits into Project: Tomorrow, an exhibition. Also around the pyramid is Future Foods, a restaurant, and The Annex, a meeting center for Disney characters. Located nearby is the Carousel of Progress too.

SPACE PAVILION
To the right of the Century Pavilion is the Space Pavilion, housed inside a 1960s era NASA building. Here, guests can eat at SPACE 220, a restaurant that's supposed to make you feel like you're in outer space. Also here is Mission: SPACE, a gentler version of the Epcot attraction. It exits into The Astronaut Labs, an exhibit, and Voyager Emporium, a gift shop.

WORLD PAVILION
To the left of the Century Pavilion is the World Pavilion, where the earth is celebrated. Here, guests can experience two attractions. Our Planet is a show about the world and the threats to its ecosystem, but also how we can help. Evolution Earth is a ride raveling through human history, showing the most pivotal moments in human history. After both attractions is the exhibit known as For the World, where guests can learn how to make the world a greener place. The World Buffet is a restaurant in the pavilion.

When thinking of an area themed to the future, I wanted to paint a hopeful image of it. To do this, I decided to place in three big ideas: progress, space travel, and the world. These are the core ideas of this future, so I built around that. I considered using ideas like these for Tomorrowland in World of Enchantment, but I decided that they would be better off here.
